It is my immense pleasure and privilege to extend to you my cordial invitation to the upcoming IUB Open 2007:

 

Is there any chance that you might be keen on sophisticated debates, memorable parties, comfortable accommodation, and the flair of a multicultural competition?

Do you feel that you would be a qualified successor to 2006 Last Man at the Bar Derek Lande?

 

Then be sure not to miss the upcoming tournament at International University Bremen, Bremen, Germany:

 

“Debate, Beck’s, & Rock’n’Roll” at the IUB Open 2007

 

Date: February 02 – 04, 2007

Style: English language BPS debating

Size: 48 teams and 36 adjudicators

Fees: € 35 per debater, € 30 per adjudicator (incl. all meals, accommodation, and debaucherous socials)

 

You can expect five preliminary rounds of high-quality debating, breaking to semi-finals, rounded off with a Grand Final in front of a large public audience in “Die Glocke”, a prestigious concert hall and event venue in downtown Bremen.

 

Meet world class debaters such as the distinguished members of our Chief Adjudication Panel Derek Lande (Third-best speaker of Dublin Worlds 2006; winner of no less than eleven IVs), Gavin Illsley (Euros Champion 2006), and Isabelle Loewe (Euros ESL Champion 2006 and Best Speaker of the IUB Open 2005).

 

As usual, accommodation is in comfortable hostels close to campus, making it easy for you to find your way home after our famous parties on Friday and Saturday night - the best occasion to make inspiring contacts with your fellow debaters and students of IUB’s international community.

Take the opportunity to appreciate the virtues of Northern Germany with a tour of the world-famous Beck’s brewery and free beer at our socials …

 

Now is the time to secure your cheap flight to Bremen or Hamburg (e.g., easyJet London-Bremen return at GBP 37.98, incl. tax).

The first 50 international participants will receive a German “Bierkrug” to drink to their first IUB Open experience!
