Dear All,
I am happy to let you know that all the participants of the DTD Forum have arrived safely to the site- YMCA in Jinja.
IDEA, CRY and AJPRODHO trainers (15 persons) spent the last 2 days adding the final touches to the curriculum and discussing roles and responsibilities of trainers during each session.
We begin the Forum officially tomorrow at 8.30 a.m. with an official opening ceremony, followed up by ice-breaking and team-building activities. During this time, Veronika and Marcin will meet with Rwandan and Ugandan coaches to discuss the details of the Forum and particularly the responsibilities of coaches during sessions and debate tournament.
In the afternoon we will have 2 sessions on public speaking during which Rwandan and Ugandan students will prepare speeches on a chosen topic and present them in small groups. In the evening, we will host Speech Fare where participants will be able to display their skills in public speaking.
On Monday we will engage the students in mock parliament and on Tuesday we will proceed to Karl Popper debates on the topics related to the rights of the child. Debaters will be able to develop their cases and practice debates.
On Wednesday and Thursday we will have a small debate tournament.
We also plan a short excursion to the source of the Nile, which is not far from Jinja.
We will keep you informed about the progress of the Forum. Expect a lot of pictures and reports from the Forum after it is finished.

With best regards from very hot Jinja.
