Dear all,

Our European Youth Speak conference, IDEA Model European Youth Parliament,
which ended on March 17th, was a great success! 

The conference hosted over 60 participants who represented over 10
countries. We witnessed an impressive exchange of ideas and know-how between
those participants who were absolutely new to the idea of Youth Parliament
and those who have tried this format before. Although the conference was
short, the parliamentarians managed to prepare 9 resolutions regarding four
main topic areas of the conference (Environment, EU enlargement, migration
in the EU and EU's greater involvement in world affairs) for the final
plenary session. The opening speeches, as well as the resolutions presented
can be found in IDEA Wiki and on our website at www.idebate.org/eys If you
have not had a chance to participate in the event directly, you can continue
the discussions of the four topics on our discussion boards.

 

Inspired by this event, we have decided to organize EYS Conference again
next year. Tentatively, it will take place in Amsterdam, in mid-March. We
will have more workshops on IDEA Model Youth Parliament and more sessions to
discuss topics of interest to youth. Mark March in your calendars and start
preparing your resolutions!
