10th International Karl Popper Debate Forum in St.Petersburg, RUSSIA

Dear all,

This year will mark the *tenth anniversary* of the International Karl Popper
Debate Tournament in Komarovo, St.Petersburg (RUSSIA). Throughout these ten
years Komarovo has been a legendary place both for debaters and coaches. It
has been hailed for its excellence in training students in art of debating
and in teaching them how to express and defends their ideas.

North-Western Open Education Center, in partnership with Herzen University
of St.Petersburg, are pleased to announce *the 10th KOMAROVO 2008
International Karl Popper Debate FORUM*, which will be held on the weekend
of *April 25-27, 2008 in KOMAROVO, a beautiful and 'legendary debate resort'
45 km from the center of St.Petersburg (RUSSIA).*

*Students aged 15 to 19*, coaches and observers from Baltic States, Belarus,
Moldova, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, and other countries who debate in English
or Russian are welcomed to participate in *ONE OF THE LARGEST high school
debate event in EASTERN EUROPE.* Besides, you have the chance to see one of
the beautiful cities of the world just before the famous period of White
Nights.

There will be 4 preliminaries, quoter-finals, semis and the finals both in
English and Russian tracks on the resolution related to the 'freedom of
expression' topic area:

*Resolved that HATE SPEECH SHOULD BE A CRIME*

At the tournament we expect more than 150 debaters and coaches from all over
Russia (Yakutsk, Novosibirsk, Tula, Moscow, Cheboksary) and more than 50
debaters and coaches from abroad (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Latvia,
Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Ukraine, etc)

The registration for Komarovo 2008 Karl Popper Debate Forum is now open!

The registration fee of €47 per debater and €45 per judge covers
accommodation and 10 meals for two days and a half as well as
St.Petersburgcity tour.

The team cap is 30 (n-1 rule applies)

Registration deadline - April, 14th.
