Dear debate activists,
On November, 1 2006 - November 2, 2006 IDEA is pleased to announce that a
new event, the IDEA Exchange, will take place on November 1st and 2nd,
2006 at the same location in Prague, the Czech Republic, as the IDEA-NL
General Assembly.
This event, which is free of charge, will feature workshops and seminars
designed to help facilitate the exchange of ideas on how to promote and

Here is the proposed workshop plan for Proposal Writing Workshop
Workshop facilitator: Marcin Zaleski
Marcin has been with IDEA since its inception and has worn many hats with
the organization. Marcin has been involved in grant writing part time for
IDEA and its members for the last 6 years and has managed to obtain the
grants worth close to 600, 000 Euro.
The proposed workshop will cover 6 hrs of instruction and will include the
following objectives:
· Acquaint participants with some of the grant opportunities;
· Present a strategy for developing successful project proposals;
· Provide opportunity for practicing proposal writing skills
The workshop will include the following sessions:
1. Where is the money? - grant giving programs in Europe in the area of
youth, education and human rights.
2. Before the writing begins reading the guidelines, coming up with ideas
and research.
3. Putting ideas into words- writing the proposal
4. Developing the budget
5. Practice makes perfect a short exercise in proposal writing.
There will also be ample opportunity to discuss proposal writing and other
fundraising issues with Marcin after the workshop.
