First, there was Michael Moore
Now, there is
YOU!
The People Speak (TPS) 2006 is holding a Public Service Announcement (PSA)
Contest and it needs all budding directors (15 years of age and over) to
bring forth their best 60 seconds of film making brilliance. Prizes: One
$500 prize, and up to ten $250 prizes.
This years theme is Working Together with the World: Whats in it for the
United States?
The main theme is divided into three sub-topics:
(1) Peace, Security, and Human Rights.
(2) Energy and Global Climate Change.
(3) Millennium Development Goals
Whats a PSA?
A PSA is a public service announcement; something designed to deliver an
important and persuasive message to the general public. This is your chance
to creatively express your view on major world issues, such as human rights
and the environment. Your PSA can be funny, sad, serious, or even a music
video you decide. Let your talents guide you.
Lights, Camera, Action!
Heres the pitch: deliver 60 seconds on human rights, climate change, or
millennium goals to the people, in English or with English subtitles. Your
PSA needs to be suitable for a general audience (of all ages). That means
no profanity or nudity.
And the Winner Is . . .
You can win $500 and have your PSA debut on the IDEA website, to reach the
world. There will be one grand finalist and up to ten finalists, who
receive $250.
What Do Judges Look For?
A panel of judges will decide the winner based upon the following criteria:
(1) Overall Impact: 40%
