Dear debate activists,

This is the description of the workshop on Teaching English Through Debate,
which will take place during IDEA exchange.  Please contact me, Jurate at
jmotiejunaite at idebate.org if you are interested in attending the workshops,
indicating which workshops are of interest to
you.

Workshop facilitator: Gina Iberri-Shea

Gina has been involved with IDEA and its members for the past several years.
She teaches English as a second language, debate, and public speaking at the
university level, and has experience integrating English language
instruction and debate for both university and high school programs.

The proposed workshop will cover 6 hrs of instruction and will include the
following objectives:

·	Introduce the benefits of teaching English through debate.

·	Present activities and ideas to facilitate teaching English through
debate.

·	Provide opportunity to share experiences, strategies, and ideas.


The workshop will include the following sessions:

1.	English through Debate: What does it look like?
2.	Working with low level students/multi-level classrooms.
3.	Activities and Ideas- Hands On!

Throughout the day there will be plenty of opportunity for small group
discussion, questions, and practice.

About IDEA Exchange:

On November, 1 2006 - November 2, 2006  IDEA is pleased to announce that a
new event, the “IDEA Exchange,” will take place on November 1st and 2nd,
2006 at the same location in Prague, the Czech Republic, as the IDEA-NL
General Assembly.

This event, which is free of charge, will feature workshops and seminars
designed to help facilitate the exchange of ideas on how to promote and
