General information on internships

The aims of internships in the AI EU office are:

*	To help the work of the AI EU Office in Brussels by carrying out projects, and sharing supportive and administrative tasks;

*	To provide work experience at EU level in an international campaigning human rights organisation, for those who want to gain experience in the field of international human rights work and the European Union institutions.

The work of interns is usually a mixture of short and longer term projects and day to day tasks. We offer a variety of research and writing experience in substantive issues in the human rights field, in particular in relation to activities and policies of the European Union in this area.

We periodically run internships in the following areas:

*	CFSP/External Relations;

*	Justice and Home Affairs;

*	Public Relations and Media;

*	Human Rights in the EU.

The usual period is three months and on a basis of a minimum of 32 hours a week.

All interns receive limited compensation for accommodation and other living costs. Interns are responsible for organising their own travel and accommodation.

Hours of work are normally between 9.00 - 18 h. Interns are expected and encouraged to be flexible. Occasionally interns are expected to work in the evenings or weekends.

Application and selection information

Following the publication of a specific internship vacancy, selection is made on the basis of your completed application form, your CV in English and an interview (preferably in Brussels, otherwise by phone).
